A3 size : This little guy is all ya need :) I sang that song the whole time I was drawing this cause it got stuck in my head !!!! Does anyone have any advice on posting from a photo, its a little shady :)

Yippee

Soooo happy today when my books arrived in the mail, I have not had a chance to do any drawing as we are still in clean up mode after the floods but how inspired I am now to get a chance to sit down and experiment with these great books that arrived today :)

Dreamin of a holiday

I got a beautiful leather A4 journal book with wonderful handmade paper and loooove it so much, anyway i have been thinking of hollidays lately and it seems like there are some palm trees in my future (well, in my tangle at least) :))

Loose Ends

This is an A4ish size tangle, I called it loose ends cause I just felt like I couldnt tie it up in to a neat string, sometimes ya just cant fit things in boxes :)

Artoo

The Diva's challenge for this week was to use her new pattern 'artoo' in our tangle, it never ceases to amaze me just how much a new pattern can breathe life into me :) Thanks Laura this is a definate keeper !!

This turned out ok, but I wish I could not feel lost every time I go to start one !

This one was an accident (if there are such things:) I was writing in my journal and just started drawing around the wheel that was in the middle (a pattern in the book) and I thought I would stick in on here as it turned out kinda cool :)

Busy times with busy family, all roads crossing over each other at breakneck speed it seems, with different goals and challenges , quite the tapestry :)

Tyred !!

Feeling very tired (tyred :) and stressed after a trip to Bendigo through flood waters with impatient shoppers and stressed shop assistants everywhere !!! We drove through very deep water and this tangle reminded me of the tyre tread surging through ( me with my eyes closed) ... I wasnt driving :)

HOPE

This dodgy beginning (bottom left hand corner) reminds me of life, no matter where you begin from you can soldier on and actually create something beautiful :)

YASI

My tangle today is with thoughts of my sister in law and family in far north Queensland as they live through the horror of Cyclone Yasi, I see swirling winds in the right hand corner and the waving palm trees in the middle that have been shown on our TV coverage since this began yesterday, there are lots of sharp things in this tangle and I see wire and fences and feel the harshness of it all coming through.

Diva Challenge

Laura threw out a challenge to us this week to create a tangle while remembering the basics of Zentangle........Relax, Breathe and Smile... wow did i find this hard to remember !!! Hence the idea to tangle the words, I thought I would put this up on my wall and maybe remember to live that way toooooo:)

Firstly a big thankyou to all who sent messages of support to us while we were going through the floods here in Victoria, Australia. :) we are fine and I am so happy to have a regular internet connection :) .. I am feeling lucky to be blessed with a wonderful local communtiy and also a very supportive and connected Zentangle Community :)

Kerang sub station

Well, there have been no tangles from me this week, our town and surrounding farms are in the middle of a crisis, we are having floods and this is a picure of a levee bank surrounding our power station in the town. SES and volunteers (inclucing hubby) have been working around the clock to save houses and farms and animals, we have lost many and saved some too, its devistating for all concerned and its peaking as I write this... whish us luck.. xxx

My family and I recently spent a week at the lake with our friends (and neighbours) that live down the road, my girlfriends 18 year old daughter took to Zentangling like a duck to water (so to speak :). Here are her very very first efforts !!! inlcuding a special personalised one for me, we had a great time sitting together tangling

Sitting by the water all day with friends Tangling made me realise that when you do take is slowly and dont have time constraints, it does turn out better... hmm.. what was that thing about living in the moment :)

Weekly Challenge # 3

Eyes Wide Shut was the challenge for the string this week from Laura @ I am Diva,

The idea was to create the string with your eyes closed and then fill it in ( eyes open ) it was wierd for me and I felt really non attatched to filling it in, I felt as if i was finishing off something for someone else and i couldnt wait to get to the end of it... I think it showed too as i like soft tangles usually and this seems hard to me . anyway ......

We are away on holidays at the lake and this kind of reminded me or Snoopy Dog riding a wave for some reason :) I think all my sore muscles have me thinking about the waves and water and may have sent me a little loopy !!

Back to Basics :)

That challenge of Laura's @ I am Diva on Simplicity really got me thinking about the new year, I think getting back to basics is a good idea both in life and drawing :) let me see if I can give it a whirl .. "simplicity"... my new word going forward.. (even as I am writing it, I am doubtful !!)

Ha ha I knew i couldnt leave it alone and after I published it, i went and added a little this and that !!!.... makes a big difference all that "this and that" :)
